Privacy policy
This privacy policy describes how Vuf World processes your personal data when you use our app and website. We treat your data confidentially and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Danish law.
1. Data controller
Ringheim Create ApS, CVR no. 44059150, Strandvejen 29A, 3300 Frederiksværk, is the data controller for the processing of your personal data. If you have any questions about the processing, you can contact us at info@vufworld.dk or tel. 93 93 21 94.
2. Which personal data we process
Depending on how you use Vuf World, we process the following categories of personal data:
- Identity and contact details: name, date of birth, address, email and phone number.
- Account details: username, login details and profile settings.
- Profile and user content: photos, descriptions, posts, comments and information about your dog (e.g. name, breed, size and relevant information about sitting).
- Location data: your area/city, used to find and display dog sitters and walks. Only an approximate location is shown to other users.
- Photo ID (for dog sitters): a copy of identification used to verify dog sitters. Processed confidentially and with special security.
- Bank details (for dog sitters): registration and account number used for payouts.
- CPR number (for dog sitters): used for tax reporting (labour market contribution/B-income) where necessary.
- Payment and transaction data: bookings, amounts and payment method. Card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by Vuf World.
- Communication: messages between users (chat), enquiries to support and reviews.
- Technical data: device information, IP address, usage data and cookies (see our cookie policy).
3. Purposes and legal basis
We process your personal data for the following purposes and on the following legal basis:
- Creating and managing your account – to fulfil our agreement with you (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).
- Facilitating and carrying out sitting, bookings and payment – to fulfil the agreement (art. 6(1)(b)).
- Verifying dog sitters (photo ID) – to ensure a safe platform, based on our legitimate interest and as part of the agreement (art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
- Payouts as well as tax and accounting handling – to comply with legal obligations (art. 6(1)(c)).
- Social features (feed, walks, chat) – to provide the service (art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
- Security as well as preventing misuse and fraud – based on our legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)).
- Statistics and improving the service – based on your consent via cookies (art. 6(1)(a)).
- Compliance with legal requirements – e.g. the Danish Bookkeeping Act and tax legislation (art. 6(1)(c)).
4. Sensitive data and minors
Photo ID and CPR number are confidential data that are only processed where necessary, and are stored with appropriate security and access restrictions.
Vuf World may be used by minors under the responsibility of an adult account holder: dog sitters under 18 (but at least 13) must have an account created by a parent or guardian over 18, and dog owners under 18 must likewise have a parent or guardian as account holder. The adult account holder is responsible for the minor's use of the service.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the following recipients and data processors, and data processing agreements are entered into with our data processors:
- Fogito – data processor responsible for the operation and hosting of the solution on behalf of Ringheim Create ApS.
- Hetzner – sub-processor providing server hosting. Data is hosted in the EU/EEA.
- Pensopay – our payment provider, which processes payment data in connection with bookings.
- Google – provider of statistics (Google Analytics), when you have given your consent to this.
- Providers of email and notification services – data processors that help send messages and notifications.
- Public authorities – e.g. the Danish Tax Agency, when we are obliged to report information about fees or dog sitters' earnings under the law, as well as other authorities where the law requires it.
- Other users – certain profile details are visible to other users, e.g. a sitter profile with name, area and reviews. Only an approximate location is shown.
6. Transfer to third countries
Your data is hosted in the EU/EEA at Hetzner. However, some of our providers, including Google, may process data outside the EU/EEA, including in the USA.
Such transfers take place on a lawful basis, e.g. the European Commission's standard contractual clauses (SCC) and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can contact us to learn more about the basis for transfers.
7. How long we store the data
We only store your personal data for as long as it is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or for as long as we are required to under the law:
- Account data is stored for as long as you have an active account. When you delete your account, it is deactivated, but data is not necessarily deleted completely, as we must be able to document bookings and transactions.
- Accounting and transaction data is stored for 5 years in accordance with the Danish Bookkeeping Act.
- Photo ID is deleted when a sitter profile is deactivated or deleted.
- Cookies and statistics are stored as described in our cookie policy.
8. Security
We have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. Sensitive data such as photo ID and bank details are stored encrypted, and access is limited to the people who have a work-related need.
9. Your rights
Under the data protection rules you have a number of rights regarding our processing of your personal data:
- The right of access to the data we process about you.
- The right to rectification of incorrect data.
- The right to erasure of data in certain cases.
- The right to restriction of processing in certain cases.
- The right to object to the processing in certain cases.
- The right to data portability (to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format).
- The right to withdraw a consent, without this affecting the lawfulness of the processing before the withdrawal.
You can exercise your rights by contacting us at info@vufworld.dk. Note that there may be conditions or limitations to the rights, e.g. where we are obliged to store data under the law.
10. Complaint to the Danish Data Protection Agency
If you are dissatisfied with our processing of your personal data, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, email dt@datatilsynet.dk, web www.datatilsynet.dk. We do, however, encourage you to contact us first, so we can try to find a solution.

We use cookies and similar technologies on our website. You can read more about which cookies we use, and how you manage your consent, in our separate cookie policy.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy, e.g. when there are changes to the service or the legislation. The version in force at any given time appears in the app and on our website, stating the date of the latest update.
